If they want you they will answer your questions. If they won't answer your questions it's not because the answer is better than they say. Fish bite the lure, you don't have to.

Someone is doing that job. He has a name & phone number. If they won't have him contact you they don't want you to know about the job.

Agree with the respondents here for the most part.

The math certainly doesn't add up. The way I calculate it is that if they say $60k/yr & you're working 26 weeks/yr then you're making $2,307/week which at 40 cpm means 5,769 miles/week. Flat out impossible!

Regarding the 1 year contract, & feel free to call me a conspiracy theorist (although we know many insurance companies require experience in order to give lower rates) in a very real albeit implicit sense you've already agreed to this when you start in this business - if very few carriers will hire you until you have 1 year experience what do you care if you sign on the dotted line? Either way you're not free to pick & choose until you've done your time/miles.

Also, if you were the boss at a carrier committing to train someone would you not want a return on your investment? Would you want to bear the cost to train a new driver who then bails after 1 month? As I understand it the only one making money during training is the trainer.
