You can get a CDL with a bad driving record. Just doesn't mean you'll be able to put it to use. Most of the denying to get a permit is by the company sponsoring the school. Why pay for you to go through the school if you won't be working for the sponsor?

Actually here in georgia they ask you a bunch of questions about your driving record and they stipulate if you have too many tickets or points you cannot get a cdl until it clears up. Something to that effect anyway can't remember the exact wording lol.

Take a defensive driving course so the points DO NOT go on your licens and jack your personal insurance rates way up......but the ticket's for what they are will always be there(the driving class will just keep the physical point's off).

NOTE: Depending upon your state, how many times you can take the driving courses for point reduction can change. 5 times over your lifetime in florida for example.

As far as expunging a record: Driving or Criminal or Civil......If you've ever been convicted of certian other thing's; even simple stupid thing's..... you can never have a record expunged in FL. It doesn't matter it's on there and it's gonna stay, so it also depend's upon "The Rest Of Your Record(S)."

Unless of course your somone special's son, nephiew or cousin.....Maybe even a rock star, or a B-Ball Player for the judges favorite college.

I have had several tickets over the years. Generally speaking, you don't need any legal services including an attorney to get this done. When you get a ticket, call the D.A. for that jurisdiction & tell them you have a CDL & ask them if you can get the ticket reduced to a non-moving violation.

I have never had anyone refuse to help me. One of several things will happen.
    1) You may have to sign a paper agreeing that you wont get another ticket in that jurisdiction for 6 months or a year. If you do get another ticket, your ticket will be put back to its original charge & will show on your CDL.
    2) You may have to pay a bit extra like $25 or $50 more than what the original fine would have been.
    3) Some places will just reduce it for the same money.
    4) Some jurisdictions will reduce it to a non-moving violation & charge you the lesser amount associated with the lesser charge.
