I myself don't see how road or traffic conditions play into not finding a place to park.
I think that just becomes creative interpretation.
I also think that most safety, and even a DOT cop or 2 might understand having to go a couple miles or minutes beyond the cutoff in extreme situation, but shouldn't be the norm.
When there is liberty given, and then its abused, it is typically taken away.
We now get they wonderful save all e-logs because we as a industry abused the paper logs to the point they are a joke.
Now look, we have a thread wanting to cheat e-logs.
Just remember kids, If you hit a school bus, how is your log book going to either help put you in jail, or keep you out?
Can you cheat an eLog?

The rule is as it states... except for your little statement in parenthesis...
example... Showing up at a truckstop at 3am with no parking is not unusual... with your 9 years of experiance that you are so quick to point out, it should be an expected condition.
unexpected traffic condition would be an accident... but not just any accident... an accident that prevented you from parking in a reasonable manner under the rules. It means if you are presented with an accident and your 11 clock runs out, you proceed to the nearest available parking. Not an excuse to proceed to your "planned" parking location.mustang970 and Yodler Thank this. -

1. Why did you not stop earlier when there were stops available.
In other words poor trip planning.U2Exit, Yodler and mustang970 Thank this. -

I think at some point our fine feathered friends in the dispatch offices are going to have to rethink dispatch.
E-logs are going to be a cause of what I like to think of as short stopping.
If your under a dispatch, say for just simplified purposes.
1100 miles, and your given 30 hours to complete this run.
We all will shortly learn that with e-logs the days of 11 hours driving time is short lived. So we trip plan and learn we have to stop short of our 550 mile day, we stop at 500 miles to find safe parking, hence trip planning. Now we can't make the 2nd portion of our trip, so will need more time, due to short stopping and our trip planning.
Yes I know we can drive faster or farther, but this is just a simplified example.Boardhauler, Oxbow, bluebonn and 1 other person Thank this. -
