Can you live out of a van at a truck stop?

why would it be free for a van?

you'd blend right in at the pilot in Hesperia or high desert ts..

commerce city is a dump with rental spots and no showers.. they do have fuel and a scale tho. auto parking is very limited too.

Last time I was at Wally near me place looked like a homeless camp. Several cars with people living in them. Clothing hanging from trees.

 

It's just a regular cargo van. Yes, I like truck stops because of the showers and laundry machines.

That's a great suggestion. I completely forgot about that place. I remember stopping there once when I was trucking and it seemed more laid back and peaceful than the Ontario twins.

 

I meant other than truck stops-- creative parking.

Ontario has the 4wheeler parking up front that specifically says, NO Bobtails but I do see bobtails and hotshots up in there all the time.

 

I have seen others do it in different states but for how long I dont know. I suppose one could always spend a little time on the bounce to and to back and forth here there and... hunt....

drivertobroker is right .. its a bit laid back or easy gping in the desert area but there's a commute unless there's something worthy of setting up a more permanent camp in that laid back area? will watch for updates.

People park in vans all the time at truck stops. A lot of them are called expediters. If I was you I would think about Texas vs California, but to each their own.

What is closest truck stop from there to grab a shower at? I'm guessing the Pilot in Palm Springs?
