Can you start out with 80k with you become a trucker in North Dakota?

Got any info on how to do that?I'm 24 ,not sure if that counts as young.

Plenty more as you begin to google around but I'd recommend you try and avoid dealing with the hundreds of "roughneck headhunters" out there who place prospective workers with outfits, and deal directly with the larger developers and producers directly at least as you're researching. As in truck driving, the placement recruiters tend to paint a very untrue picture and present you with glorious numbers and expectations that simply aren't there in the real world.

To work in the oilfield as a roughneck, driver, roustabout, etc it helps if you can pick up and move on short notice to be where the demand/need has shifted. Having a travel trailer and means to move it (dependable transportation) helps, too

no not that ive seen while down there...you need experience but thats not true i'll clear 80k next year with under a year experience

 

######## $$ is the only reason i drive a truck im right down the block from you in La co it costs money to live here and my company knows it all the drivers on mt yard are there f or the money. Guys are making 80k trucking well oil field trucking anyways

 

If you don't mind being away from home and you don't mind getting dirty with the job you do, why not try welding? You can go to school at Hobart or Tulsa and learn to be a pipe welder. The Keystone pipeline project is going to be starting soon and you'd by finished with school in time to be hired on. Look into welding. After being a pipe welder you could start your own welding business.
