Biggest thing that comes up in driving into Canada is felony convictions.
In Canada, a DUI is a felony offense. No Canada runs with a US DUI or any felony convictions, unless you get a waiver, beforehand. -
It's not that big of deal. Passport, ID, no DUIs, PARs papers/stickers. You can even take in a rifle in your big rig, Just need to fill out the JUS 909 form and pony up $25.

What about a pistol?
I have a small one I was planning on keeping in the sleeper for protection. -
DO NOT TRY IT. NO PISTOLS!
Canada does not even trust their own people with pistols, much less us. It's been this way since the 30's (save a few exeptions).Lady K Thanks this. -
Pistol is not allowed. It is a restricted weapon under Canadian law. If you fill out the proper paperwork and get the proper transport permit for it you can take it from one point to another along a certain route only.
