Semi-auto rifles are allowed. I cannot remember on mag capacities. Assault rifles are prohibited as are any rifles that can be turned into full auto.
Your best bet is that since you are crossing an INTERNATIONAL border. Leave the guns at home. It can cause too many hassles. Especially if you don't declare it and then it is found. -
Not only that, he's safe in Canada because of the Gun Registry that's in place.

Newbie question and a bit off topic - but what is an enhanced CDL?

You can not bring any weapons, or ammunition, into Canada same as I can not bring it into the states unless you have a licence to do so, and they do not allow you to carry it in the truck. Call the boarder and ask. An enhanced drivers licence allows you to cross the boarder driving, It does not allow you to fly into the country, for that you need a passport.

What are you talking about? Yes, a guy CAN legaly cross into canada with a rifle in a semi truck. I just did it 3 months ago, and I declared the rifle.

If I'm licensed out of CA - would there be an 'enhanced' license here?? I guess I could get my lazy fingers to the DMV website - but since I'm here I thought I would ask
-
