    I haven't done this personally, but I helped someone with a DWI get a Minister's Permit 15-18 years ago. Back then it did not take quite so long as I am told it takes today.

    Going on a tangent here, but from my limited travels in Canada, I feel like drivers are more highly regarded by the people in Canada than the US. Perhaps their more stringent qualifications are partially to blame.
