Hello all!
I'm a complete newbie, getting out of the computer/electronics business. Just started looking for financing in order for me to take a 6 week course at the local driving school here in Edmonton (Cameron). Already looking for an OTR job. Bison looks promising, I spoke to a recruiter and met with their local HR person. I took a short list of companies referred to me by a friend who drives for Yanke and narrowed it down to them. Others were Yanke (go figure), Arnold Bros, and Reimer Express. So far Bison has been the only outfit to give me the time of day. Others are either not hiring ATM or have not replied. Bison has offered me a letter of consideration in order to help secure the financing that I need for the course. I think once I'm licensed I will focus my efforts on getting hired with them, however letters from other companies would look better for funding purposes. Any tips for a wannabe are greatly appreciated.

Loaded,
You're lucky that Bison will consider you. I have tried with them on two occasions and was told "you need at least one year of OTR before we could hire you".
Too bad for me as I have less than the one year and they offer a "truck share" program that would suit me fine 7 days on/7 off. great for home time.
Good luck though!!
