It's the truth. In all its glory.
All above mentioned carriers are meat grinders.
    You'll see.

    BigHossVolvo Thanks this.

Edmonton Calgary freight is mostly moved by LCV by big name carriers.
You may try to compete if you want.

Flatbed tridem/B-trains are the best choice of trailers for the most available loads originating in AB.
That can pay a decent rate. Not a slave wage.

Whose got the best fuel prices then?

BvD card has some good discounts but varies from city to city and only works at loves in USA and petropass in Canada

They’re the same as regular authorities, insurance will be different (power only). The hard part is getting signed up to carriers with a new authority, although I hear Bison/IHaul are so desperate, they will take on anyone as long as they are setup for the US/Have Valid Insurance.

It all depends on Volumes, EFS through Flying J seems to be the best I’ve seen.

Maybe I should rephrase the question, are there many carriers that a O/O can sign on as ABL ?

Thats 15 in just their Langley yard, another 10-20 here in Calgary, some still at Freightliner with the plastic on the seats.

They now have a FT recruiter overseas. They’re also taking on everyone who quits Triple 8.

It still kinda pisses me off, every time I drive by their yard. It was a great company, until they absorbed H&R, and let them take over.

Oh well, it was the push I needed to quit OTR. I would never go back, turnpike forever.

That I’m not sure, most ABL outfits are 1-5 trucks. Alpha Beta was one of the bigger ones, that I believe hired O/Os, they have Teamed up with Mainstream now; so I would look into them.
