I've been driving for Schneider for about 8-9 months, but the truth is I'm not making nearly enough money. I was sitting thinking what I could do to make extra money and I thought about getting a passport to make myself available for Canada runs. I'm sure it varies
I guess my question is, is it worth it? If I get it, am I gonna get long Canada loads from texas, or does it only open up short runs from Wisconsin to into Canada

I'm really having a hard time trying to explain, but if anybody understood that, I'd appreciate some feedback.

Can't speak for schneider, but anything you can do to make yourself available to extra loads can only help. With my company I get some Canadian loads that deliver in michigan and others in Texas & California...

I'd say its worth it. I see quite a few Schneider trucks crossing where I live. When I drove OTR I used to see them loading candles out of Cowansville and going to P&G in Sturtevant WI, which has got to be close to a 1000 mile run.

Canada is a great place to visit. Good roads, great people. I don't recommend anything, anymore. Will say this. If you have anything they may think is a weapon, have it in your side box. It's a very large problem with them. I keep mine in a bus locker on this side of the border.

I love doing Canadian runs, the roads are good and the shippers/receives are always nice. If you call 3 hours ahead of time you normally have very little to no delay at the border.

    I would get the passport.

A passport card is acceptable and less expensive than a passport .

    Canadian Runs.

That is what you get from poorly refrigerated eggs and undercooked Canadian bacon!

Definitely get the passport. I go to Canada every chance I get. Canada is a huge country, so even if you start in Wisconsin, you could very easily end up with a 1,000 mile load.

The weapons thing is true, though mostly it seems they are concerned about firearms. Their gun laws are quite a bit different than ours and you can end up in a lot of trouble trying to bring in a gun without going through the proper channels.

I go to canada a lot and they have too many rules. Every weigh station is open 24/7 and once I had to take a load out of Canada and that took forever waiting in a room while armed guards check you out. Plus every warehouse out there is old and tight like new york. Once there was a problem with my Pars code and security thought I snuck in the country somehow until it got cleared up.
