HOPEFULLY it is NOT the driver's credentials. I would really feel for the driver if this were the case.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Thank you for your help everyone. I certainly learned a big lesson. And I won't be coming back to Canada anytime soon. The load got delivered but I wasn't compensated for the day I lost waiting. Well today is a new day, I'm glad I found this forum in the process. I'm sure I'll be reading through it daily looking and learning the ropes.

Did you or somebody fill out 1 of these or something similar.
And I think the number missing in the OP is the entry number.[IMG]

What hassle? Every thing is pre cleared even the driver,
    No fuss-no muss now.

Aamcotrans and Long FLD Thank this.

    Well... not quite.

It isn't specific to Manitoba nor specific to CMV drivers. Admissibility is federal so it applies at every border crossing and it is every driver convicted of a DWI (regardless of license class or vehicle when convicted) and every vehicle that arrives at the border.

If a driver has a DWI in their background there is a "rehabilitation" process ($$$) they can follow in order to gain entry.

However, if you have a valid license, and are otherwise admissible, then there is no driving restriction, regardless of background.

Canada is a breeze provided everything is in order. We carried printers in our trucks and once we got the email with all our info all we had to do was stop before the border, print what we needed, and then cross. So much easier than it used to be. We load in Columbia Falls and our paperwork would be processed by the time we hit Eureka.

D.Tibbitt, magoo68 and Coffey Thank this.

If everything was pre cleared this thread
    Wouldn't exists.
He had give the load away.

Like I said, it ain't worth the hassle crossing
Any borders and having to deal with border patrol
Of any kind. Nothing good can possibly happen,
    Only bad things.
And you don't get a penny more for the headache.

You can take all my Canada loads.
I can make a fine living in the lower 48.

Maybe at your company, but at my last company the Canadian guys did make more.
And again, 99.9% of the time the only issue is the line to get to customs.

And that's fine if that's what you want but
It's not the SYSTEM that's the hassle.
So any hassle is on you.
