Fed Ex Express is different than Fed Ex Freight. It's sortta like UPS. One is Pacel and one is Freight.
-
And they don't share seniority boards. I think the OP's best option would be if Express had an in-house CDL training program. I have 2 friends who work there driving package trucks. I'll try to remember to ask them if they do that.Sho Nuff Thanks this.

Agreed. According to the OP, Express does train you inhouse. I heard that Fed Ex won't even allow these guys to even have the option to turn union, unlike FXF.Bob Dobalina Thanks this.

Sorry, I missed that part. So the issue is getting outbid. I wonder how many of the package truck drivers are waiting for that gravy big truck gig? Some people have no desire whatsoever to drive a semi, no matter how much more money is involved.

I believe @jungledrums does the Fedex package thing and likes it.

I don't know how much Fed Ex package delivery driver makes, but if it pays as much as UPS package delivery drivers, maybe there's no need to go through the hassle of getting a CDL. From what I've seen, I don't think Express drivers even pull doubles.
-
They don't.
I've only ever seen them run 53's and liftgate pups around here.Sho Nuff Thanks this. -
Same here, and I see them on regular basis all over Jersey.
-
They do pay fairly well, but not nearly UPS dough. I seem to remember my buddy saying they top out at a couple bucks under what most LTL P&D drivers make. I don't think they get nearly enough for the beating they take every day. 90 - 100 stops hustling non-stop deserves $25+ per hour minimum even though they don't have CDLs. (Just my opinion)Sho Nuff Thanks this.
