Go walking beam and you'll never go back. To a walking beam suspension, ever.

I pulled a Talbert lowboy like that once. The trailer didn't even have springs. At least the tractor had Hendricksons.

I can see that for mixers though, as top heavy as those are.

    Toothpick1 and okiedokie Thank this.

The 20 minutes I spent driving my truck up and down the driveway was enough for me to hate walking beam rubber block (and solid mount cab!)

okiedokie and MACK E-6 Thank this.

My assigned truck for the first almost 3 years of my last gig was a 99 KW day cab, single screw, spring ride torture chamber. Clutch was so heavy on that thing that it screwed up my knee. (The one that was previously my GOOD knee...)
However, I can't really ##### about it. I was a cigar smoker at a place where nobody else smoked at all. When I hired in, the smoking question never came up.
Once it reared its head, and I was told "don't smoke in the truck," I told the boss I'd make a deal with him. Give me the worst truck you have, the one nobody else wants to drive, and let me smoke in it.
Had he not agreed to that, I'd have been down the road, although I didn't tell him that.

The old people say the young people won't work because they're all on drugs and playing with their phones when they should be working, but the old folks then say no one will hire them because places only hire young people,
