That's what I will do now, Meltom. Appreciate the advice. I will look at the different companies on this forum as well and apply.

Yeah Pardner, you need to apply at 10 companies at least. You waste a lot of time applying at one at a time. If you can, do it in person, what with all the truck companies in Dallas area.

I was thinking one at a time because I didn't think it would take this long.

Stevens Transport: Sorry kid, you don't meet our income criteria. Forget your PERFECT 27 year driving record. :biggrin_25513:

PAM Transport: No reason given. Guess that 27 year PERFECT driving record doesn't mean anything too a TRUCKING COMPANY. Unreal. :biggrin_2556:

So I will apply to a lot today and see what happens next week.

If your first impression is like the first post, they might think you don't fit in well and will quit. I would tune down the I'm better than most attitude. You'll find many treat you like a dog from the public to the customer. You learn to deal with it.

Your good car driving experience is a plus. But there's a whole level of driving knowledge you don't know yet. So put them learning shoes on.

Like the rest said, flood the market with applications and do your homework. There's alot of invaluable info here.

Is your 27 years safe driving in a truck? If not, it's not applicable.

I don't have a "I'm better than most attitude" Condo. And when I go to a company I have a very humble attitude because I am new to this world. Of course when I am writing on a forum I can say things that I wouldn't say in public. It helps with the frustration level.

That's good, your first post you were calling people names and referring to all the slobs. It's probably how you worded it and I interpreted it. No biggie. :) They all ain't like that.

Just keep an open mind. It's a whole different world. I wish you luck landing a good company.

Stevens Transport: Sorry kid, you don't meet our income criteria.....

Somebody want to fill me in? Previous income is considered in the hiring process? At a bottom feeder? really? Why? What's it say bout you?

Sure! I get pvt. fleet, banks, freight haulers where you might do c.o.d. but Stevens?
