Most all of the trainer companies do credit and background checks.

The background is obvious...for criminal record and for DMV. The credit check is to weed out any potential "easy to be bribed" drivers who would sell a load or part of a load to get a hand up on their bills, or to sell the fuel the company has paid for...same reason. Your credit history actually tells a prospective employer quite a bit about the person applying. Without regard to "circumstances" that precede the fall into bad credit. but they do it anyway...because they can, and it is legal for them to do.

As others have mentioned...employment verification from Mexico is useless. And your DMV history in a 4 wheeler actually means squat to other drivers...and is only a reference point for companies.

Since it was you that came to this forum with your statements and questions about what is happening in this industry....perhaps backing off of the defensive posture could serve you better in the future responses from other members. Keep up the attacking and name calling...you will soon be written off as another "troll" just trying to get under other drivers skin!

Nearly the same thing would have happened to me with Stevens but I saw all the miscommunication and problems and decided it was not worth the risk (and the 1,000 mile trip). I'm glad I made that decision after hearing your story!

Federal law requires verification of where you've been and what you've done for the last three years. If the company decided that you weren't worth the risk to their operating authority, move on. Getting an established US work history will be your first step to getting in a truck. If you want to blame anyone, Blame Canada!!! JK, blame the feds as they're responsible.

Like I mentioned in your other thread, you could always try the oilfield since you're close. I got a job right out of CDL class and with very little work background...didn't have to show taxes either.
