can't get hired

    I'm not sure why you want to stay local. If you HAVE too be local, apply to ltl companies as a fork lift driver with a cdl you might be able to move up at some point. Otherwise you.might be better off going OTR, if you do that there are many threads on which company is better. 6 months experience helps in during a truck. Honestly, driving OTR for 6 months is what I would want before doing a local gig in a semi. Backing alone takes a while to learn, easier to learn how to drive in Wyoming than Chicago.

    8 out of 10 say go2 website we don't take applications here last 1 I brought in 4 lme took it and said I'll call u that was 3weeks ago

    Truthfully I am a step away from being homeless veteran about a yr ago was working at an ag sprayer mfg in fargo and partially tore my rotator cuff I quit and haven't been able to find a steady job so I qualified for a program to retrain I chose truck driving I did sum in nat guard 20 yrsago I liked it the gal I'm staying with I help watch her 10 yr old special needs child and I can't do nites or otr so I'm trapped local

    That's even worse to send in by internet. They do not know you and they just read your application and match it to the other 100 or so applications and toss yours. I would without a doubt go in and see the companies you want to work for. Also you've got to remember that all companies do not advertise so how else would you go about getting hired by them. The better companies sometimes do not advertise unless they have contracts that state they must. So I believe your chances of getting hired from your house are slim to none. Sorry.
