I'm sure my type of question has been asked a million times but I've tried the suggestions I've searched here and everywhere else.
    I have a 2013 cascadia and a cobra 29ltd.
My problem is I can't seem to get my swr down enough. I was able to get it out of the 3+ range and now ch 1 is at 2 and 40 is about touching the red.
I got a new stud mount wondering if that would improve anything because my old one I was able to twist a little and got an improvement but the new one did nothing so the one I've had is back connected.
I have a 9ft coax going through the door. I've ran a ground wire from the bolts of the stud and placed it on the door frame just to see what will change. Only it hasnt much or it just increased the swr reading.

Edit. My swr went lower when I wrap my hand around the base of the antenna where it connects into the mount. if that helps any
I'm using a stand alone swr aswell.

I've worked on the bonding and got some actual good 12 gauge wire for it. (Or least I think it was. Lost the label) now the swr is at 1:1 on channel 1 and channel 40 is at 1:2. Only I took a glance while driving on the highway and noticed the swr went up to 2. I replaced the cable coming from the antenna because now it started jumping around before I had the good reading.

If I understand this correctly, the wind or bumps going down the road increase the SWR? If so, my first thought is, did you check the ratio with the door closed, in an open lot. Next I'd check for loose shaft, and antenna flex. Then re-replace the stud (its really not that expensive) and get your coax out of the door jam and route it properly (if its not already ruined). Good Luck
