Actually its a lot different, theres no kitchen, no bathroom, no big screen, no wife an kids running around................ Smell what im stepping in? Oh and from the looks of your other posts looks like you've posted everywhere about peeing in bottles. Some people are different and live different and dont find certain things nasty or gross. Some people cant hold it when there eyeballs are watering so pee in a bottle or what have ya, if you dont like it dont do it an dont worry about other people doing it.

Yes as a matter of fact I do know in most cases. I would never sit 34 hours . Will not nor have I allowed it to happen. You can not loss your cool when dealing with bad situations either though. Being a persistent pain in the ### while being polite has always worked for me. I deal thru the company I work for not the shipper/receiver.

I pulled away from stater brothers in Fontana for stalling off the delivery. Went about a mile away and called my dispatch let them handle it. The company I work for now charges 75.00 per hour after 2 hours.

I felt the same way, especially after sitting once for almost 40 hours waiting for a receiver to take their freight. The broker said they'd pay and the company I worked for said they would bill them for 50.00 an hour that I waited, but surprise surprise...I never saw a penny of it. I'll never sit and wait for a load more than a few hours unless they have cash on the barrel-head.

I have spent many years over the road as a driver, and recently took a job as a shipping manager with a company (I wanted to make some money. lol) and I can tell you I now know why sometimes companies are sstrict about their "no overnight parking".
95% of the drivers I get in on a daily basis are very good and professional, but its that 5% that screw it for everybody. I convinced my bosses it was in our best interests to allow drivers picking up or delivering to take their breaks on site because we would get better service from them for it.
They allowed it to happen, then within a few days our lot started to become cluttered with trash and pee bottles and some would park blocking driveways etc.
Like I said before most were good but a few bad apples forced my company to return to not allowing people to park.
It costs time and money to clean up after those pigs and companies just wont do it, and if just 1 truck parks there, others will too without even asking.

Sorry guys but when you get pissed off at these policies dont get made at the company just look at the truck next to you.

As a former driver and supporter of drivers I tried all I could to make things easier for the drivers I deal with but some just cant be helped and ruin it for all

Also as for delivery and pick up delays? A positive attitude goes a long way, it makes my job easier and makes me want to help you get going
