I had to check the date on this post at first, Russia hasn't been commie for at least 35 years now, these days they are definitely fascists, just ask any Ukrainian.
Take your point about learning the local language though, fortunately mine was good enough to get a start here back in '99.![]()

Hysterical, I knew most of that history already but liked very much listening to the re-telling. And for friends of mine it gave a us a special kick because one of the health service ladies who regularly visits my wife, who has dementia, speaks good and rapid French but is English and only came here to live, work and marry about 10 years ago. But her pronunciation is entirely English, even I mistake some of her words in French because they don't sound right.
I see the bloke didn't get round to American English, a whole different and humourous discussion.
BTW, I wasn't impressed by the selling plug in the middle because I heard him say 'Je suis Rob' (I am Rob). The French never, ever say that. They always say 'Je m'appelle Rob' (I call myself Rob). So I won't be buying their language course.
exhausted379 and Snailexpress Thank this. -
You know what isn't hysterical. 3 dead motorcyclists at the hands of a drunk, non English speaking idiot. One that drives for a company that never should have given him keys to a truck.

All the kids in my age group could speak it and we spoke it among ourselves.

But you still have to be able to read and speak English to aquire a CDL. Weather or not you take the test in another language is irrelevant. You still must know English regardless.Bud A., Gearjammin' Penguin and TurkeyCreekJackJohnson Thank this.

I didn't realize Texas had an intrastate CDL. Mine is just a cdl. I knew you could register your truck for intrastate only, but I've never heard of an intrastate cdl anywhere. Not saying they don't exist.Bud A. Thanks this.

Apparently not.....
I guess the google translate lowers the bar. I see drivers that can not do their job without it -
According to the regulations. Did you miss where it was quoted and posted in this thread multiple times?
How does Google translate work with road signs and symbols?TurkeyCreekJackJohnson Thanks this. -
WHY YES, i did happen to see that on this thread.... And i can even show it to anyone in Green book that is supposed to be in every CMV. But there are thousands of people driving trucks in USA, despite that. So "apparently not" state dmvs are giving cdls to persons that can't speak english..
So apparently it is now legal..
Or else it would not be happening on a national levelHammer166 Thanks this.
