Hey drivers im a newbie been waiting to start my career as a truck driver since August of this year. I got accepted to many different companies but the thing that is holding me back is the ceremony for the US Citizenship. I cant travel out the country because of this and also I dont know if I would even get accepted into trucking like this. The companies I previously applied with didnt know this but now they are telling me to refill a application but the only concern I have now is will they even accept me like this. All im doing right now is waiting for a envelope to come in the mail and that will tell me the date to attend the ceremony to recieve my Certificate Of Naturalization. But before I wanted to get done with this first but now im finding out that I really cant no more. Im getting low pay at my job now, my bills got higher, thinking about all that makes me want to just start with it. Trucking is something I like because I have several family members that are in it and talk to me about how that job works. Ive travel in them before and know somethings about them to. Companies I like that are willing to hire me is Roehl, Millis, Central Refrigerated, Prime, Stevens, Swift, CRST. I have nothing on my driving record since 1996 and nothing else on background. Everything is clean but the only thing is I dont know if I should apply know with this problem so if anyone can let me know some information about this please do, thanks.
Cant Wait Any Longer

You can't be hired on unless you're legally allowed to work in the U.S. which means you've become a citizen, have a green card or a work visa.
-
Iam working and been working since 1994 when I got in this country. Iam currently employed right now but they took my green card because of the process for the US Citizenship. I also have a passport
-
Seems like with a green card you should be able too get hired.
You have a valid ss. number correct.
Plus your passport from your home country as long as it's valid will let you enter and leave the US.
My wife travels with me and we have been into Canada several times. No fuss no muss.. -
They took your green card?
Please explain that as how do you now prove you are legal to be in the US. curious -
I have a valid ss and a passport that is valid. They took my green card at the interview because they told me I will no longer need it. I have proof with a letter that has every information in there and that im just waiting for a ceremony date
-
be honest with a recruiter and they will try to work with you, its there job, even if they do blow sunshine where the sun don't shine sometimes
New Driver' Kevin and str8rida Thank this. -
What my plan was to do is is attend a school and if someone from home call me and let me know that the letter came home I will finish up with the school and go home before training to take care of that. Now if it still havent come in yet then I will proceed on to training and if while in training If I get a call that it came I will go home and return after. I still could travel but not out of the country in a plane. I will re apply and tell the recruiter about this
-
Hope all goes well. Good luck.
Where are you from orginally? curious.
I know all about filling out forms for getting my wife her status here.
Thank you for doing it legal, if you know what I mean.. -
Thank you and im from Dominican Republic
