    GPS???? What's that?? If I need GPS to go where I've been 100 times before, I'll hang up my keys.....when I ran otr it was nothing but a Rand McNally atlas (u know, the paper kind?)

    When?

    1977, that's when everyone had to get a CB, put them in their car, in their house, in the truck and even on their bicycle.

    It hasn't gotten any worst or better in the years that have followed.

    .... or just see if there isn't some frequency listed at the very top or very bottom of the AM Broadcast Band at the beginning of construction telling you via a recording just what's being done. They're usually just 1-watt transmitters running into very short antennas to limit their range to the immediate surroundings, and *ideally* get their recordings changed when the progress of the project changes.

    At least nobody is jamming *them* yet; too hard to make a MW TX with an antenna long enough to radiate, unless you're towing a kite.
