Hi
I’m starting to get everything I need to start a hot shot business. I’m torn between a 4 car hauler and a 40’ flatbed trailer. I will be stationed out of the Houston area. Can someone give me some advice on which one is better? What kinda car routes Houston has right now if there is any?
Car hauler vs flatbed

Houston is right in the middle of oil country. With a flatbed you won't sit idle, if you lease on with a good carrier.
brian991219 Thanks this. -
Would you happen to know where I can start to look for companies that do leasing agreements in the Houston area?
-
Not sure this company will lease you on, but you can ask.

I do not know if they are still around, but Acme used to be heavy in oilfield hotshots out of Houston.
-
would you happen to have a link?

Having had a flat bead for a single car. Trailer your insurance rates are cheaper. How is that for incentive?

Every time I go to Houston, the truck stops
Are always 3/4 full with empty flatbedders. -
Flatbed freight generally sucks out of houston, unless you want to stay local, actually regional I guess, anyway, you can stay fairly busy, and some of that short stuff pays well.
.I have a couple of friends that rarely get out of Texas, and if the do, it is just to south louisiana, pretty much everything they haul is oilfield related.Lepton1 Thanks this.
