I drove for United Transports for several years...Jack Cooper bought us in 1984 0r 86..I forget what year...drove for JCT 'til I retired...I retired too soon.. Even though I have a GREAT pension...I sure do miss hauling cars...

 

Were you working out of GM Arlington assy.? Hauled a load out of there back in 1984 back to Boston. GM pulled traffic off rail to get us back home. Was United Transport the day I was in there.

 

A lot of good info here. Really makes me nervous to start out on my own with NO experience but I have to looked ahead as I purchased a truck/trailer and I am pretty much ready to go next week. I wish I would have came across this site and this info before I invested everything but I'd like to give it a shot.
