I'm just wondering about something, I thought the only way California can stop an out of state truck from entering the state is by removing the interstate commerce clause in the constitution?

I was under the impression from my college days that the one purpose of the federal government is to make sure that states have access to other states markets, which means this crap can't happen if I travel to California in a truck registered in New York carrying goods from Indiana no matter if CARB or the state of California says I have to be specially equipped.

I would think that the OOIDA would make a really big effort to force this issue into the courts than say the truck agriculture stuff they put an effort into a few years back.

I don't think anyone has tried that argument in court, but it is a valid point. I guess someone with a non-compliant truck can run there and be a test case.

I've been to California once. The reality falls short of the ideal. Never want to go there again, so I say to hell with them. Even though I drive a 2014 which should be compliant with the new standards if I'm not mistaken.
