Ok, so the Recon label means that just only inframed it ? I ask cause the truck is a 14 and the recon label is a 16. Just curious what was done. I know that the ESN number is the original from the manufacture date of the truck, that’s what has me confused, usually a whole recon crate motor changes the ESN number, doesn’t it ?
CARB replacement truck already throw codes.

Shame you had to retire the old ride. New one looks good though.
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Dave,
You are correct to suspect someone has done something to this truck.
I am questioning to 2 different ESN? Are the stacks clean? (inside) I'd be very curious to hook up and see the Software file. It may already be deleted. Maybe the reason for the good deal.
If you get me the VIN I can see what matches with original truck info.Diesel Dave, pushbroom, rachi and 1 other person Thank this. -
Sticker on the ecm 79692343 is original to 1XPWD49X0ED244462. Looking at the specs I'd say thats the correct truck.
I think the pic of the valve cover label cut off some info though.

Yes. That’s the correct VIN. When I first bought it, they hooked up the insight, it threw a code driving it home couple months back. It was fixed(DPF clamp was leaking), once fixed, it finished the regen and cleared the code. So I’m assuming if it did a complete regen, it can NOT have a deleted system. I bought the truck from a California small fleet. And they weren’t known to delete any emissions.rachi, Dave_in_AZ and Goodysnap Thank this.

Stacks are white ash. I’m gonna follow up on the software that’s in it.Dave_in_AZ and Goodysnap Thank this.

Used engine swapped in and original ECM was saved and transfered? The original engine build dates are very close.
I have never seen a reman tag like the one on your valve cover. But it looks legit Cummins. Maybe overhauled, sure. I dont think Cummins would do the 2 different ESN thing.rachi, pushbroom, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this. -
How did you fix the oil leak? Usually it's the gear housing gasket.rachi and Diesel Dave Thank this.
-
They removed the whole fuel pump assembly. Quite of bit of work. Lots of lines. Replace genuine gasket. Took him about half a day. When I first seen it, thought it was the oil pan gasket. But when I got home, I pressure wash the whole under carriage. Then I fired it up and slowly I saw the leak coming out in front of the fuel pump. Ran the engine for awhile and it only leaked from there, more so once you shut it off. Nothing else leak. For the price I bought the truck, I knew and/or was expecting the unexpected. Like I mentioned in the beginning, paid 22k and probably have about 6K in it, $3800.00 on tires alone. So I can say I’m about $30k in it.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

Still a good deal. Hope you get good service out of it. Nice.Dave_in_AZ and Diesel Dave Thank this.
