    Hello, experienced owner operators.

A stupid question. I was searching load on load boards, some require CARB. I have a 2012 freightliner cascadia and the authority is located in california. Does that mean i qualify CARB requirement and i am able to get that load?

    Thank you!

You would ya e to contact carb office and get a certificate for your rig,

Another way for California to make money on the backs of working Americans.

    I think it’s like $100 per year

thank you very much, do they do any smog checks of the car? Just pay and they give you a certificate? That doesn’t sounds reasonable...

Not sure about the process, i left the state and just not looking back on it. Currently only broker i know that requires a carb certificate is CH Robinson. Only way to find out is call them up and see whats up.

A 2012 if the emissions systems haven't been tampered with, is CARB compliant. Nothing further is required. The broker is declaring up front that the truck must be compliant to cover their own bases in case of a legal action should arise.

There is no charge for carb or arb registration. It's free. Just go on line, takes a few minutes and you're done.

When I purchased my truck (new) in 2015, I asked the dealer to provide a CARB certificate for me. They did. I have it saved on file as a pdf and can produce or download it anytime it's requested. I am noticing that more and more brokers are requiring the file itself these days.

    That is a shocker.

California asking you to register something without a fee.
