Ah, I see now why you are making all the money you are, the ruling did not go into effect until the 26th of August this year.

Oh and by the way, they are also trying to include an owner opperator ban in the rules. That is going to mess up your frieght.

There is a 2-3 week period where judge schnider will have to enter her final ruling, then it will be apealed to the 9th circuit court, if they 9th takes up the case then it will be requested they grant a stay on the program thus allowing older trucks to still opperate.

I am talkin a used truck that falls into thier 2007 plus guidelines, and you know if the SHTF on this one they will be getting a premium on those trucks because of it.

Maybe it's because I'm from the rust belt, but imagine all the rust free older trucks that will be selling cheap!

Seeing as the ban only applies to the port, it won't be extremely widespread, but it will probably have an effect on the market.

The problem is that most of the good paying freight that comes out of California comes out of the ports.

So by doing what they are doing, they have destroyed a lot of peoples incentive for going there.

Well I know a couple of people in the container business and here's how they're working it.

They use a marshalling yard and compliant trucks to haul from the port to the marshalling yard.

It doesn't matter who picks up from the marshalling yard because it's not in the port.

    loophole.

yes but as redd stated they charge several hundred dollars per load for a service such as this.....that really affects the bottom line...

They are attempting to kick out the single O/O who has their own authority & 1 truck. I am leased to a major carrier... I am running under their numbers... We haul hundreds of loads in & out of the ports on a weekly basis. We won't be affected.

And that is why you are suppose to negotiate your rate with brokers & shippers. You get that money going in or have it stated on your rate confirmation sheet that the shiper/broker pays the fee...
