I know its been a year since anyone has touched this thread, but I didn't really see anyone get into detail about this job.
I briefly talked to a guy that does home depot. If I remember correctly he said you get 30c a mile + $25 a delivery (maybe that's backwards?).
And he said he worked mon - sat.
Can anyone shed some light on any of this.
Is the 6 day week a requirement or an option?
    Average weekly/yearly salary?
Is the driver or company responsible for maintenance?
I'm in LTL now, but thinking of switching over

Most of the Home Depot accounts I do believe are lease purchase. They have an account with Papa Johns in the Pittsburgh area.

They are doing away with most of their O/O, lease purchase plans on the Home Depot accounts. They are trying to go with an all employee fleet, at least on the HD accounts. They still have a few areas that are O/O, like GA.

I have been with them for 8 years, and the polish has tarnished. where i started in NJ was great; but after they lost the account and i transferred to TX things arent the same. Basically it depends and who your manager is. Some make it great some make you wanna pull your hair out. Personally im looking for the exit.

I have a interview tommorw for them out of bridgewater nj for the office depot account. said it pays 42 cents a mile and stop pay. same run everyday m-f. leave bridgewater at 2.30-3am go to rhode island. by 730-8 deliver then 3 deliverys i conneticut on the way back in. he said the 3 were close to each other.then u deadhead back and go home. same thing everyday. went to check out the place today a few trailers some new and one beat up columbia sitting there. doing the math it has to be at least a 420 mile day at 42 cpm is bout 173.00 if its 10 bux a stop thats another 40 so maybe 210 a day x 5 = 1050. not the best but not horrible. ill find out for sure tommorow. if it sounds good imma take it. this job hunt has been stressful

I've been offered a position with Cardinal, but now that they merged with greatwide, ( a less than freindly truck driver company) I'm having second thoughts about submitting my 2 weeks notice. My job is a living hell, but that might mean the same thing will happen too Cardinal. The job is conpany driver 16,50 an hour delay time, 39. cents a mile an 21 bucks a stop.........I was told that I would be in the 50-55k range at this time next year.......

Well you've dug up an old thread, but I'll ask anyway, is this Cardinal account you're going on in Tallahassee, Fl by any chance?

Still don't know weather too jump ship or not.........one thing is for sure, where I work now will not get much better for me. I would actually have too trust a driver recruiter for the first time in my life............If I go with Cardinal.

I had a fellow co-worker go to work for them in Tallahassee and loved it for the 2 years he was there, unfortunately his cardboard run was lost and last I spoke to him he was looking at other avenues if things did not work out for him with Cardinal. I don't think you can go wrong on the HD account, normal hours, good equipment, and good pay sounds like a good combination.

ive been with cardinal now for 5 months. out of nj on a office depoit acount. making 1300 a week m-f bout 58 hours a week. brutal run tho that has wore me out mentally. the company is good tho. very professional. some of the truck maintiance issues could be better. the first month is a little rough with all the safety things they make you do. they leave you alone after that. only complaints i have is 65 mph truck speed. thats company wide. there are prolly a few trucks in the fleet that can do a little better, unfortunaly i wasnt lucky enough to get one lol. the job would be ideal if i could just do a few more mph all day. they run a lot of prostars with maxxforce! :(( with small tanks to boot so fueling everyday is likely. which sucks. i am compensated for all my delay time tho on top of normal pay. so i feel its pretty fair. keep in mind each location/account has diffirent managers and payscales so it may or may not be worth it for you. office depot and office max have merged so not sure what is going to happen when cardinals contract ends. may or may not be here after that. honeslty its just a paycheck for me and driving on the east coast for the last 8 years has really got me thinking of working in an office.
