Hey Waco Kid...........What part of the Pocono Mountains are you in? I am originally from West Wyoming, PA and dad used to drag race at the old Pocono Drag Lodge in Bear Creek.

The recruiter told me that I will be doing very little NY because they have drivers that live in the area. I would just drop the trailer in a suburb, then they would take it from there.. Hope that true. Thinking about driving in NYC scares me.

I did pass my air brakes and pre-trip tests today. One left! Then all I have to worry about during school next month is, How to drive a rig:smt026

lol...romtang keep believing that recruiter..i would'nt be susprised if your 1st solo load went to LI city NY OR Jamaica Queens. Not that i wish those kind of loads on anybody new( the beautiful Phizer over in Brooklyn that's wedged between 2 housing projects with security guards carrying pistols). My fellow soon to be trucker i would'nt lie about any of my expieriences with Swift or Werner.Im not a disgruntled driver but i am a little more educated now from those 2 and my standards are high and im not going to let some 3rd rate company dog me around.

Congrats on passing a/b and pre trip too

Driving in NYC is the least of your worries.....

I'll tell you what scared me over in Az going down 17 s in Flagstaff and seeing an elk in the road( it was at least 6ft tall and from the looks it weighed at least 600lbs) picture that at 3am.They do have the signs posted so i was going slow enough to stop....

Or try this Going accross I-80 e into Pa from Nj trying to get to I-81 pouring down rain, mountains and fog so thick you cant even see the hood of your truck.

Or going accross I-40 in amarillo Tx and all of a sudden out of nowhere a duststorm.i didnt know what was going on and i was in the hammerlane.

Or driving over in Cali when the wildfires are burning

These are just a few things that scared me being a city boy.Dont worry
Ny's not the worst maybe the rudest drivers but you have Philly,Atl,Chi,Nj,Dc,anywhere in Cali these were some of the worst i expierienced with atl and chi being the worstalong with I-5 and I-10 in cali:occasion5:

i did exactly what kC0rey said waited till it was safe for me to pull over and did just that.

That is a bad situation....If you stop somebody will run into you....if you continue moving you may run into somebody.........
Turn every light you have on including your 4 way flashers and bright lights during the day....Low beams at night......and cautiously and slowly proceed to a safe place to park....
