I am 100% sure that this has happened AT LEAST once in the last 20 years................Has to have happened............I have fed drivers, given them rides, even got one a job for the company I was working for.........
I have met drivers who had been fired, walked on, spit on, trucks repo'd, etc. I have heard a million stories and only seen 20 or so truck drivers who were down on their luck who could provide simple proof of their profession (CDL or Valid Medical Card).
WHen I worked for Munson, a driver pulled in next to me and started asking questions about Munson. I gave him the number and answered his questions.......20 minutes later I was went a Quailcomm message to return to the truckstop and pick that driver up and call in. I was on my way home, (Munson's main terminal was here) and was told to bring that driver with me. They gave him $100 eating money and a job and we went down the road. He told me his story and it started with, "I haven't eaten in 2 days". I let him drive most of the way home..........he kept bugging me to drive..........He was a better driver then me and I learned allot from him. That was about 1990. things have gotten allot worse since then.............
Consequently, Truckers in soup lines would not surprise me even a little bit.
Career change to TrUcKiNg......

Your dad may own a trucking company and pay his drivers well but he cannot be all things to all drivers.
