Maybe you have gotten spoiled by your success so far and dont realize how bad other jobs suck? Between working for the man and it being hard to make comparable money, you need to appreciate what you have accomplished and be proud.

Now, kick yourself in the rear and reset your head. Think about how you can achieve your goals and build off your hard work so far. Leaving the industry means you essentially wasted your experiences of the last 5 years. Your knowledge, insight, and wisdom

You said your equipment is paid off, you have your own authority, you are tired of driving, you want to have more home time to meet someone and settle down. Very simple my friend. Your new challenge and goal is being a trucking company owner!

Hire a driver and focus on maximizing the efficiency and profit of your one truck. Save up enough where you can float the expenses of a 2nd without factoring. Add a 2nd truck. Perfect that and repeat. Provide opportunity for others and yourself.

Be an owner that makes dough and stays at home directing the ship. You’ll have everything you want plus more.

You can go to a community college and get the required courses and then get on with a airline. I know a few that keep them things flying and they enjoy it. They get to stay home and have a regular? life. Times change. We better.

Yea if you already own the equipment I would just pay someone CPM to drive the truck, invest in a 2nd truck and do the same, after a few more trucks you can pay someone to run the business for you and you just collect a check and make money doing whatever else you want. Simplifying it, but you can work 40 hours a week making someone else dream come true or work 60 any make your own come true.

i really appreciate everyone input.i am going to give myself more time to decide which path ill take.till then i'll definitely will be doing more research on both fields.last year i did upgrade my truck and put driver in my older one and he wrecked it 3 weeks later lol.it was close to million mile freight-shaker so not a huge loss. but like you guys suggested i may put driver in my current truck and try out something else. worst part is i live in Florida & you guys know what freight pays here lol.
