    Just remember some losses are incurred with an accident besides the physical cargo - let's say a combine is damaged during harvest operations, the losses from no combine may be part of the cargo claim. It doesn't mean that there will be a payout for those losses but it is an added problem.

    They paid, including the lab work to prove it wasn't spoiled...the load was transfered to a domestic reefer but the tattle tails showed it wasn't allowed to get warm. The consignee still refused the load and the lab work and eventual sale/disposal was handled by the insurance.

    The insurance paid for the lab work in order to force the receiver into some of the liability.

    Cargo insurance is not afraid to spend what's needed to limit their eventual payout
