Somebody needs to advise deleware DOT of that fact.

5 years ago we got pulled over because my trainer was in the passenger seat with no belt on.

I got the ticket because in deleware the driver is responsible for all occupants of the vehicle. He manned up and gave me the money to pay the ticket but I took the points.

The DOT cop was a decent enough guy but we couldn't talk our way out of it.

Looked up the code. Delaware uses the term "motor vehicle" in thier state law. That's how they got you.

Makes me wanna create a list of states on this subject.

I know back when I was training with Swift, my trainer got fired for refusing to let me sleep on the bottom bunk, restraint or not. Or maybe it was because I had pics of him driving without a seatbelt, talking on his flip phone with no Bluetooth, with his left foot up on the dash..... I got off his truck as soon as possible.

It's not the coffee, it's the brownies that he made to go with it.

    Don't
Dont Know the reg in question, but I am pretty sure its against federal law to sleep on the top when in motion. At least that's what I've always heard. Either way Swifts saftey dept for the most part dosent play around. I'd saftey has it in for you, the only way you can avoid being fired is if you are worth enough to your management for them to go to bat for you, and that means DM, FM and TM.

This was several years ago. I didn't know it was illegal, I just knew it was very difficult to get any sleep. He's long since been fired, and I've moved on to bigger and better things.

More importantly, it's common sense. Bit of a no brainer.
