Try Abilene Motor Express in Richmond VA. Good company, good equipment, good miles. Talk to Sally or Sean in recruiting. Fine folks over there.

Tried them they want you to do 6mo at (. 16 or17 cent) before you get your own truck. Unless I'm wrong correct me??

YES stage one is 16cpm and is three months, stage 2 is 20cpm. But you will get miles. I only did stage two with them. If I had done stage one too, might still be with them. Anyway, they are a good group. If you catch on quickly, they may cut your training down and you can go solo sooner, or team if that's your thing.

Got a call from Rebecca in recruiting to go over my application. I had disclosed a couple of minor incidents that were not on the highway but at a receiver. Busted my side view mirror against a dropped trailer as I got the back of my cab and the front of my trailer hooked against the dropped trailer I was setting up to back. Also bent my cab extenders in the same incident. My backing was epically horrible that week. Need to retrain on that aspect. Everything else, I'm good with. Hope these folks take me. All I have read is that the training is excellent here. I think the CSA scores bear that out. Rebecca is gonna talk with the safety guy there. Just need a second chance and I will make good.

Jerry W. is the safety guy. I don't see them not hiring you over that small stuff. I've seen some hired with worse.Last edited by a moderator: May 17, 2014

Get ready to do some eating! They feed you like a rock star during orientation. I'm trying to see if they'll let me go through it again but no luck so far....

Also, I had a fuel nozzle incident when I drove off while at my home terminal. Thats what actually got me fired. I know, I know. I had two strikes against me and feeling the heat when that happened. I am not an accident waiting to happen. Just hope they can forgive that. My old employer couldn't.

Let us know how it turns out.gntorres61 Thanks this.
