You made the comment that they have "Walmart policies" but got called on it they are actually more strict than Walmart. He made a stupid comment about checking a 100 lugnuts every drop and hook.

I can't wait for you to prove Walmart doesn't have inward cameras, mud flap damage reporting, tailgating points, and roll sensors..
I'll keep an eye out for that post, and admit I exaggerated when I see it..
By the way an immediate relative has been at the Shelby, NC DC 15 years.. I didn't Google this.. I've also never applied there just like most other people here who never worked there.. It's not because we don't blow the bell curve on the orientation pretrip test..Last edited: Jun 13, 2025

Yeah we have to report any damage we find on a truck? What's the issue with one? Have you ever noticed any typical Walmart truck driving down the highway? They don't have busted fairings, bent mudflap hangers and whatnot like a lot of companies do. The reason for that is because if something gets damaged, even something minor and cosmetic, it gets replaced immediately with a brand new part. The other reason for that is we get about $600-700 cash saftey bonus every quarter plus 1 paid day off (equivalent of $400-$550 pay) with no at fault accidents or incidents. Drivers tend to keep focus so they don't lose that easy extra $4000+ a year in pay. If you don't report something damaged on the truck it might get hung on you and cost you that bonus. So if you find something on the pre trip when you start your week report it you lose nothing. It gets fixed. That's it. Don't run into stuff and you won't have to report anything. Check the truck over good before starting a week. Piece of cake nothing to it.
We don't have roll over sensors. Don't be closer than 5 seconds following distance. You can be closer than that but if you trigger the camera with a quick brake you'll be having a talk about that one. Don't tailgate, pretty simple.
So no driver facing camera and no roll sensors. And yeah you have to report damage on the unit if you find it. What's the issue with that? Do you damage stuff and not mention it to anyone at your company? That's just trucking huh? Bend a fender or tear up something and oh well. Lol... Well it probably ain't the company for you if you tear #### up and act like you didn't. I hit some road debris (gator) one night going back to the DC. Reported it to the shop and saftey the next morning when I got up. It busted the inner front fender liner and cracked the bottom of the plastic bumper. Cosmetic damage you couldn't even see until you raised the hood but they replaced all that stuff. Said it was over $1,000. I had to fill out a report on it and that was the end of it. Not a big deal.Last edited: Jun 13, 2025
Knucklehead, PpreciateItHaaaan, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
sometimes the safety personnel lack common sense. They don’t understand that this stuff gets embedded in our brain so the next time we encounter a last second split decision scenario with something laying in the road in front of us were more likely to make a crazy maneuver because we don’t want to “ end up on our record.”Knucklehead, GEMM and Lonesome Thank this. -
Walmart doesn't do that. I spoke with the saftey manager about it to be sure. He said it happens all the time there's nothing you can do and it's not your fault. That's the end of it. They ain't out to get you like you're all thinking. I'm not gonna roll a truck to avoid running over debris. They don't want us rolling trucks over something like that. I personally know of guys who have run over all kinds of crazy #### that was in the road that they could not avoid. And they didn't get in trouble for it. Road debris happens especially at night time.
Knucklehead and Lennythedriver Thank this.
