at one time, i used to get my UPS deliveries like between 9 and 10 AM.

but for the past few years, it's "by the end of the day"

they tell you that, on the package tracking information.

and yeah, 6 to 8 PM....what a long day, as the driver still has a few more deliveries and back to the d/c center (or whatever UPS calls it)

but at least, i can go freely about my day, instead of like in the olden days, WAIT ALL DAY.....lol

@jmz Thanks for knocking some sense into me, I guess you’re right about looking into the future. But, like what @x1Heavy said, maybe it’s not worth it to make your body go through that. Maybe, I’ll look into something less demanding.

you know, try bakeries in your area, like wonder bread, tip top, etc. many have "satellite locations", that they need o/o's for such deliveries.

we have a Sunbeam such satellite bakkery in my state, and they do have company drivers and o/o's...

you start like 2-3 am, or earlier, but you end in mid afternoon.

not hard work, all light products.

there is also frito-lay that has package vans for store deliveries.

the possibilities are endless..it's just package deliveries such as for instance, amazon, ups, fedex, DHL, that they time you..the other deliveries, you don't work slow, but you ain't timed.

you do your route, get to know the customers, and live.

I tried package delivery for this small expanding outfit franchising with a bigger company called Fast Lane Delivery. It was total chaos.

We started the morning with the semitruck arriving with our deliveries that were a mix of office supplies from Staples and Mckesson Pharmacy supplies. It was up to the van drivers to paw through all the pallets of boxes and sort which ones go to which van.

When I got going, I'd be tryig to knockout Mckesson stuff as a priority, but there might be one package going to a customer miles out in a rural location that soaked up a lot of time.

Not that all package delivery is that crazy, but I'd be cautious. Also, really clarify whether this is a 1099 gig.
