Whom of us have not made some mistakes in our lives. Best of luck to you driver, stay positive.
I do have a question, which you are obviously are able to voice an opinion.

I recently listened to a Segment on NPR detailing an individuals process of re-entering society after serving time for a felony. One particle comment the individual made really stood out to me, and to paraphrase because I don't remember the exact words he said " Convicts make excellent employees, they learn "loyalty" which is inherent in surviving inside the prisons." That sense of loyalty stays with them, and thier employers become like family, because they gave them a second chance.
The group that was documenting the Series agreed, as the huge majority of those individuals they worked with were model employees.

I am very happy to see your post, driver. For a long while I thought no company would take me because of past mistakes. I was on my way to Carolina Cargo when Swift called. Never looked back. When I was training I saw a dude from Carolina Cargo pass me and he looked like he was super happy to even be driving. And I felt a kinship with him, because I love my job no matter how much it pays.

You definitely have the right attitude for Carolina Cargo and if you keep that attitude it will translate well to your next company, if you move on. Same #### applies there, don't hit anything and try not to get any tickets and run your ### off. Doors WILL open up to be sure. Companies that wouldn't train or even hire me once trained are now beating down my door. You can imagine how much love I'm showing them after how they treated me back then. Went from ashy to classy and now these fools all want me.

Don't know what the felony is, how long ago it was, but if you aren't on probation or parole and it's more than 3-5 years old, many companies will take a hard look at you right now.

Not sure what the question is! But this is all true. I'll speak for myself and say loyalty is EVERYTHING!!! Especially behind the walls, your life depends on it!

Been down a similar path. Screwed up, had to go
Back to the bottom. Took me 7 years, now I'm at the top.
Making more than I ever did before the screw up.
My fondest memories come from that small outlaw
Reefer gig that gave me another chance.

Good luck. You ain't alone in this journey.

As I have said in an old post in an old thread, some of the Carolina Cargo guys (actually ALL) that I saw when I was OTR were some of the better, and most courteous, drivers. On the highways AND at the truck stops. It's a stepping stone that people are actually grateful for, and don't feel inherently "deserving" ... like others do, coming into this industry.
Kudos to you, man. It's only UP from here!!
