companies that don't advertise the mileage is a pretty good sign to look elsewhere.If CC pays a 2000.00 sign on bonus.I bet it's 200.00 a year for ten yrs considering how cheap they pay the drivers.

 

I believe it's .22 cpm split.
They run back to back west coast/pacific northwest turnarounds non-stop.
I don't see a problem with this company at all if everything is kept in perspective.
They hire drivers no one else will hire and give them a chance to clean up their work history and qualify for the better jobs. It's a trade off and fills a much needed niche in the trucking industry.
When I started I worked for less than Carolina Cargo pays and when someone said I was dumb to work there, I asked, "OK, will your company hire me?" If the answer was "NO" then I just considered the person a condescending dirtbag that should mind his own business.

My response isn't directed at you personally, I'm just pointing to the facts that some drivers must face if they've had a rough life in the past.

 

You're one of the very few that sees ,nothing wrong with Carolina cargo and highly reccomends them.In the meantime drivers have bills,how are they spose to pay their bills with nothing more then what kids gets for a weekly allowance.Of course drivers wanna clear their tarnished records but they shouldn't get paid literally poverty wages for months to yrs either until their record is satisfactory.

i only gross about $500 more per week than a CC driver IF they get 6000 miles per week (should be do-able as a team) and they get .11 cpm.

 

well there's driver services that help the less fortunate find jobs,there also google,they can drive around in their city and talk to the boss in person.Many times a first impression can make the world of difference.A close friend of mine was in prison for 25 yrs he got a job as a welder and later on working in the mines.he's making excellent money,he his own house two vehicles and a boat.there are jobs out there but you have to look not pick the first company that hires felons.There's also labor ready always looking for drivers,temp to full time.First thing I would do though is drive around in my area.Another guy posted an ad on craigslist looking for someone to give him a chance,he never even got one bite.He decided to look around in his area now he's doing flatbed otr and making good money.

 

at .22 a mile you would be better off working for McDonalds and be home every night

 

Since truck drivers work piecemeal, i.e., mileage, percentage, etc., they are not covered by any real labor laws. While I agree Carolina Cargo is paying poverty wages, people are actually agreeing to accept it. If no one agreed to accept it, they obviously would not be able to get away with this.
I understand that these drivers with bad records are trying to re-enter the trucking field. They would really be better off not taking these slave wage jobs, and work an hourly paid position instead. Again, they are choosing to accept the said pay/conditions of this unscrupulous outfit.

 

And making twice as much even on a part-time salary.

 

No good future in fast food. With Carolina Cargo, it's a first step to those $60K jobs within a couple of years.
