Just another Tool used by scum bags to make money off others. No regard for the truth. The fact that they tried to scare you into a subscription says it all. Brokers seem to be clueless these days. Using 411 for instance. Mainly because they lack the common sense to do their own research. Too many leaches in this Business. Unfortunately Brokers are increasingly the problem. I predict it will eventually cause their demise. Destroy a Carrier’s hard earned reputation, and having nothing to lose, they may cut you out of the equation. One Carrier won’t have an impact. I see a new Business Model on the horizon. Not sure what. I’m confident they’re some smart folks out there right now looking to change the status quo. Too many Brokerages now. It’s too easy. Most are clueless to the industry, causing more problems than solutions. They’re asleep at the wheel. Time for a change. It’s coming. That’s for sure. Brokers will be obsolete eventually.

I digress. I sit here and talk to 100 different carriers a day. Over 1000 in a week.....10000% most of the problems lay squarely on garbage carriers who cant do the job, have poorly maintained equipment, lie about teams, late trucks, hostage loads, cry about everything, fight shippers and receivers... hence why 411 and Assure and Highway exist. Brokers need to keep tabs on all the scammers, jokers, and bad actors out there to protect their customers.

I had a guy punch the glass out of a shipping office. Should i not report that guy? Should i not make him pay for the repairs? Sometimes carriers dont need a broker to ruin their hard earned reputation, they do it themselves.

All that said, you're not wrong. There are so many bad actors in this entire process from point A to point Z it makes my head spin.

Everything in carrier 411 (except FG reports) can be gotten from federal and state agency's. Why would anyone spend the time required to do that when the same info is available at one site? It can take hours to get all that info, forget that many state sites charge a fee for it.
Many carriers don't even have the same phone# that is in safer, they didn't want all the calls that come with it.
How many are out there buying/selling MC#'s? Most are used for double brokering and then disappear.
One phone#/address associated with many different brokers/carriers.
It seems at odds to complain about the way brokers check you and ignore those that cause the problems.

Agreed. 411/Assure/Highway protects carriers too. Ive caught at least 2 dozen scammers by running the phone number, name, email, Vin# against the MC# they use to contact me on 411 and found out the connections they have to double brokering scammers in Armenia/Uzbekistan/Russia/India. A scammer in Armenia will book my load and then give it to a carrier at a lesser rate or just not pay a driver, then said carrier has to jump thru hoops to get paid.
