Carrying a taser

I can't have much of anything, I go to ports, military bases AND Canada. I'm a search waiting to happen.

 

Once going in to Canada.


4 times coming back to the states.

 

10 mm Glock in the states that have reciprocity with Oklahoma.

A stun gun will be dependent on individual state law.

 

Canada border patrol agents have a big issue with weapons being brought into their country.

Yes they can and do search your truck.

 

As far as I know it is illegal to own a taser unless you are a badge. And if its one of those toy things that runs on a 9v battery, you likely couldn't stun anything larger than a housecat anyway.

BTW, in my motorhome I carry a camping hatchet behind my seat. Even if I get pulled over (not likely in a MH) I can claim its a tool for camping and not a weapon.

Also have one of those military entrenching tools back there, which I use to dig fire pits with. I bet if you clonk someone with that thing they won't soon forget it. Who needs a gun when you have the opportunity to whack someone in the mouth with a shovel?

 

I have assorted knifes taped in various places and sizes in my truck and also carry one on me I have a stun Gun that doubles as a flash light and it will Put just about any person down depending on where you place it and it was loud enough to scare off a racist person that wanted to beat me up because the current admin had just got voted In, called me every racist name his brain could think of but walked up on me just out of hands reach all he heard was CCCrrraacck it was at night so lightning show it put on was nice too scared the crap outta him and immediately got an Im sorry I thought jabber bullcrap and walked away. I also carry a retractable Night stick aka (tire thumper) and known as a billy club some and to the state of NJ and fyi The Largest one is illegal there as I found out when I was checked because my trailer came up "pinged" stolen..with paper rolls smh lol. So I got my cab checked and of course thats the first thing he picks up it sits right beside my drivers seat. had 4 knifes that day and they only found one. Do I need all of this? No! is it Legal? I don't care because most times when we are out on these roads we are in the middle of nowhere (like Bonanza Utah lol) I would like to think I Have a bit of a fighting chance without having a gun for anyone that wants to do harm to me.

 

I found out today that tasers are illegal in the state of Michigan and it is a felony to have one - source: MSP

By the way this does include cattle prods and stun devices

Stupid law.

 

There are things called started pistols that shoot blank bullets. They are not illegal due to the fact that they are not a firearm. They just look and feel like a real gun and make a gunshot sound.


Also, @Jnaum.....the comment about police baton. They are still illegal in some states.

 

Show me the statute about a weapon being illegal in a CMV.... also under Federal Law with proper storage you are legally able to transport a weapon through a state that doesn't have reciprocity with your permit.
