hey Ok. is getting a law to let you carry in the open. truckers can't but everyone else can all you need is a concealed carry permit. I need a set of colts and a gun belt and I'll look like a short fat John Wayne. I do believe its a good idea though. lets everyone know whats goin on

If a carrier, shipper, of any other business that has a policy/sign up saying they prefer you not to carry guns on thier property that is their right. But If you get victimized anywhere on thier property simply because you were following that rule, you should be able to sue them for not allowing you to provide for your own safety. Those signs go against your second amendment rights. You have the right to defend yourself.
A company truck is also like a landlord/renter relationship. The truck is your home when you step on it. You should have rights to keep and bear any weapon there.
For those who are on the other side of this, I wouldn't test your luck with your personal safety. Being careful where you tread is never going to be enough.There is no consequence whether it be losing your job, going to prison, or massive fines that is more important than your life. A lot of truckers die needlessly out there because they put the load, the job, or company policy before their lives.
Some of you just have an irrational fear of firearms. Here is my two cents about that.

while it is against most company policies,
I must admit that having one to protect yourself never seemed like a bad idea to me.
As long as you didn't do anything stupid with it and only used it if your life was in danger then I don't see any problem with that. Like the other man said, better your life than the load,truck,trailer, or whatever it may be. -
One problem is Canada gun laws and lots of people truck up north. I'm not sure about the U.S. but I think there are laws of no guns allowed in commercial vehicals. Carry permits might only be allowed in your state and some state allow other state permits. But I can have a gun in my personal car unloaded without a permit almost any where in the U.S. But there are places like Chicago and NY might raise a fuss.
With the subject with gun laws there are too many to get the ok to have one in your truck on a forum. -
That makes absolutely no sense. Open carry means open and can be seen on your person. Concealed means exactly that concealed out of sight.

For example, in Illinois, you can carry IF the firearm is 1) unloaded, 2) fully enclosed in a case, and 3) you are an Illinois resident with a valid FOID card. If you are NOT an Illinois resident, the firearm must also be inaccessible from the passenger compartment OR broken down in addition to being unloaded and encased.
Cross the river into Missouri, however, and the firearm can be loaded and sitting in your lap, on the seat next to you, on the dash, or wherever else it is convenient for you to keep it. If you have a CCW permit, you can take your loaded firearm with you when you exit your vehicle...otherwise, you have to leave it in the truck.
A truck ain't a truck 'til it's got a gun rack...

Honestly, you dont need a gun. Learn the marshal arts. They cant keep you from having that.
