Click on the state that you have your CCW issued from, and it will tell you what states honor your permit. If you don't have a legal right to carry while traveling through a state, then you need to find out how to properly secure your weapon while in that state.

The topic of firearms always sparks political arguments and second amendment debates, which have no place in the Trucking Industry Regulations forum. If you're interested in that sort of thing, please use the Politics forum (password: thickskin) to start your own discussion.ShootThis, 123456, cadillacdude1975 and 3 others Thank this. -

That's a 'loaded' question..
I don't believe there is a Federal Law against it, also all states might not recognize your CCW Permit. -
Please use the search function there are 100s of threads on this we don't need another.

My standard question at this time.....
Since Reciprocity should be a critical and integral part of ANY permit to carry or CCW class.....
"Who was your instructor?"
www.handgunlaw.us
As well as the federal law that allows you to legally transport any firearm based on the fact that you are legal in your home state and are passing through.
And yes, I am also an NRA AND MN Permit to carry instructor.
And yes, It IS legal for you to carry your firearm in your truck. But you still must comply with the state which you are located in as well. -
There is no Federal Law prohibiting gun posesion. It is controled by the individual states you travel thru. You have to check ahead to see who will honor your ccw. This is a very old topic, and been argued to death. But that is the real deal.

The subject has been beat to death. The answer is NO. It is not illegal to carry a gun in your vehicle. You live in your vehicle, it is a second home. I personally think it is a bad idea. I do not believe you are hauling anything that someone needs to die over. Carry insurance and let the mob have whatever they want. Taking a life is not something you can go back from. I am speaking as a combat veteran.
