Carrying a knife is not always legal. For example, were you aware that you cannot carry a knife on your belt in Philadelphia, PA? You can have a knife for work purposes, but it cannot be on your person.

Better educate yourself, sir. Knives have more restrictions than guns in this country, and many of those restrictions are down to the local municipal level. Meaning the law concerning knives is a patchwork all over the country with different municipalities having their own laws.

Also, defending yourself with a knife can potentially open yourself up to increased criminal charges than defending yourself with a gun, depending upon where you are at. After all, I bet I could convince a jury that if you were confident enough to defend yourself with a knife then you were not truly in fear of your life, therefore your "self defense" justification is no longer valid.

Then you are not familiar with all the ramifications of what goes into self-defense.

and that WOULD be your "judged by 12" that would hang you for murder.

If you cannot understand the precept behind AOJP, then you are sorely unprepared for what you might have to do.

handgunlaw.us is a good place to start, but you should also check out the individual states gun laws as well. Handgunlaw.us is not always up on the latest laws, which is understandable considering how fast the laws are changing these days. For example, my own state attorney general Kathleen Kane has been busily rewriting various reciprocity agreements between PA and other states, most notably Florida.

I'd hate to see somebody lose their rights to carry due to outdated information, is all.

I suggest people go there because it DOES provide a link to the individual states specific laws. Just as the LCAV(now smartgunlaws.org) a vehemently antigun organization.
