Greeting all, Real quick, new cascadia 28 miles, had a bad injector at around 500 miles, freightliner changed it Runs fine after that but I'm noticing my fuel mileage sucks 5.8 (and that was empty) Is the fuel mileage sucky because its so new, currently have 1889 miles on it Their was slight burning smell after they changed that injector...is that normal Thanks for your responses in advance! Have a wonderful and safe Superbowl sunday!
Burning smell could be over fueling injector causing Diesel Oxidation Catalyst to burn extremely hot, if this is the case the One-Box and DPF will be destroyed. Any new model Detroit’s I drove, the fuel economy and power got better during the first 80,000 miles. But shouldn’t be That bad.
Yes, new truck will get crappy mileage until it’s broken in (usually 85,000 miles). If this is a company truck, just drive it and don’t worry about it.
