That's good information. I've never examined this because of my "slip seat" situation. Now if somebody can find a similar solution for KW T-680. I experimented a little last night with one. The stock set-up is over 2.1:1 on the two different trucks I checked. Replacing them with two 4.5ft Francis did not change anything. Replacing the driver's side with a 5ft SkipShooter brought the SWR down to 1.3:1 on 19. Replacing the passenger side with a Francis didn't change anything. The stock antennas are the AM/FM/WB/TV/CB variety. I was surprised swapping them out for two Francis 4.5ft'ers didn't change anything. However putting one longer antenna on made a huge change! I would like to try two 5.5ft Francis' and see what happenes. A better choice might be two 5ft or 6ft top loaded antennas like the SkipShooter or Firestik.............

Afrobat...Those may work best on that truck but they are not the best..A1.5 match acros one band or 10..
A 1.5 swr doesnt mean your getting everyrhing you can..Hell i got decient #'s on the back of my cascadia's cab but reception was the ####s..Reflection was to high but i had good swr...For the most part swr is not much more than radio protection..Its what the ant and radio sees to each other not what the ant puts out or rec..

Top load ant is the way to go on these plastic trucks..The skipps and sticks with the tune able tips...6ft or 7 would be killer but when the sway with the wind or get coated with ice come winter time look out!!
I saw someone mention useing a short stick of pvc pipe a tad bigger diameter than the ant would help with over all structure strength and sway..
If im ever near a shop that has a 6/7 footer im gonna try and see if there is any diff over my current set up..

image.jpeg My first Cascadia, I stopped at Bob's CB shop on I 80 exit 70 in PA.
I got the stainless steel bird perch and hardware and a Predator antanaee,
He thought I had bad coax, he tested it, and to my surprise, it was still good.
He said I had 1.3 swrs,
I'm getting feedback over the stereo speakers, but it's getting out and receiving good.

That mirror design sucks, the blind spots are enormous, the convex mirrors are too low. A woman had to have designed it

The convex mirrors are really adjustable, unless the truck is old enough for that to be frozen.

The flat ones have standard remote control as long as that is working. Mine needed a new switch, just one of the things that happens. I set the convex for the middle of what I need to see and minor position changes, like sitting higher or lower don't matter.

Thats alot of angle tucker,it might be fooling the swr reading into being lower than it really is..Get someone with a analizer to test it and see what its really doin..Then a field strength meter to plot its trans mit direction..

I guess the mirrors on the Prostar spoiled me, knowing all the traffic that was coming up behind me, being able to see a lot more beside me.but I'm sure having the little, low sitting mirrors, that will save 5 quarts of fuel in the life of the truck, are well worth the blind spots.
And I did find the little power mirror adjuster button, at first I thought that was for the sun roof

Ok guys...Low swr is NOT the end all be all for a good ant set up..Its more of a radio protection idea..
There is reflection, coefficient of reflection, impedence, phase angle pkus a ton of stuff i have no clue..Hell im learning as i go..I had a predator 10k with good coax on the back of my sleeper..#'s were good but no range..It was cause of reflection..I now have a single coil 10k on a 40" tall mirror mount..Again my #'s are good but still not alot of range..My impedence is a lil high (65 ohms) but swr is 1.1-1 to 1.3-1..My coefficient of reflection is in the low 20's which is decient but thats telling me my reception is about 3/4 of what it could be..So my point being is dont let any cb shop tell you your swr is fine and lead you to believe all is good..
