When I was still in a Cascadia I tried the Hustler Q27 antenna because the shaft is 31" long but it was too flexible and wobbled around alot, I finally settled on the 5' Siro Twin log fiberglass, however the Hustler works great on the Volvo.

Still running it?? How is it in the wind and did i see 2 coils on it??
-
How did the Q27 tune?
-
If I remember correctly with the 18" stinger all the way to the bottom the swr was around 1.5 using a radio shack meter and that is with antenna angled at around 22 degrees.rabbiporkchop and bored silly Thank this.
-
As I recall ( mind is terrible thing to waste ) it might of been slightly higher on 40 than 1 so probably could of lowered the swr but I just wasnt motivated enough to start trimming stinger, 1.5 was fine by me.rabbiporkchop and bored silly Thank this.

Cool why be normal huh... hell I know I'm not....

When you have 27" shaft predator sticking out there on a mirror mount and your watching that whole antenna just bouncing up and down your thinking is this the best option for this truck I have.......
-
If the roads are decient and a steady head wind, its not to bad...Its just when it gets bumpy and such that it wobbles like mad..
If someone were to ask me if i would use it,nope..Way to much strain on that mirror mount and on the ant stud..
Got my 7ft skip shooter on now..A 3 ft piece of pvc to help stabilize and it actually tuned a lil better to..bored silly Thanks this. -
COOL !!! HOPEFULLY YOU CAN GET THE RANGE YOUR LOOKING FOR FINALLY
-
Anything past 20 and ill be happy..Till then its try and try and try...
bored silly Thanks this.
