Im moving into a 2017 KW680 and I know your post on other thread wasn't real positive, Im hoping if I change out the factory antennas for a couple of adjustable Firesticks I can get at least a 6 to 10 mile average on transmit and receive with my BC 980.

I've heard you can use a couple of predators one on each side with the coils up above the mirrors and get a 1:1 with no other changes needed. Talk to a few cb shops about it. I've been told that by a couple drivers and shops since I got outta that trk.

I had a Predator 10k stolen off of my Cascadia, its too easy to do with low mounting position, dont have to climb up on the truck. Appreciate the info but hoping $25.00 Firesticks will work.

The 2 differences in a big coild ant vs a fibreglass is power handleing and ...and....and..Crap i suddenly went blank...
Anyways unless your runnin big power a fibreglass will do just fine..Plus the f/g ant are a top loaded vs a 10k or mm type coiled which is a mid coil..

Why did I know you'd have a comment. The low swr wasn't really the point. The point is its a viable option for a trk. That doesn't have many antenna or antennas for a option. That particular trk. Doesn't really have many aftermarket antenna or especially coax options. Well maybe aftermarket antennas it does. Firestiks Francis or Wilson fiberglass antennas.....
They should --- Everyone runs the risk of having a antenna stolen. Only a low life broke theiving scumbag would steal another man's antenna....

With a of pair of predators with the coils up above the mirrors and a properly tuned radio and the amount of POWER the radio does not being a issue a 30/35 mile talk/receive range could easily be attainable..BET IT UP.
