Still dont need a 10k..As ya know the taller the better yes BUT also adds strain to that stud..Thats the part that sucks..
Gettin those coils up is a big importants and not gonna be easy with the 10k being a mid load..
As for being hung up on my analyzers, yes but it all helps and make a diff..Its not my hang up ots whats needed..

Top loaded or mid loaded antennas are not the issue on a T680 KW BECAUSE OF THE POSITION OF WHERE THE ANTENNAS ARE MOUNTED ON the mirrors.THAT TRUCK FIBERGLASS OR STEEL ANTENNAS YOU CAN ONLY GO SO HIGH WITH THE WHIPS or Stingers. The coils on the steel antennas still have to be above the mirrors. i saw one with I believe 2 22" predators on it and it was still right at 13'6" high total height. I'd be willing to bet $$$$ that setup will talk and receive.. better than most setups on many trucks. Of course it doesn't take much to outperform anything on a cascadia.

I saw a T680 with two 5.5' Francis antennas, wonder how well that was working for him ?

Was thinking along the same lines but everytime I pass another driver in a KW from my company and try and make a contact on the cb no response it gets frustrating, new breed of drivers I guess, Im not shy though I will just start asking around Truck stops when I see they have different antennas then the stock ones. I would like to try the 5.5' francis if I knew the swr was decent, but if you buy those and it registers high ( 2.0+) there is really no way to adjust it, at least with an adjustable stinger or whip you could probably get swr to an acceptable range.

The only place I have ever seen the adjustable Francis was at the QT on Camp Creek Pkwy in the ATL and they looked pretty cheap.

I bought one there about 8 years ago and tried it on a Volvo and no matter which way I adjusted the top it didnt change the swr one bit. I have the Hustler Q27 just need to get another one, Im guessing those will work good, being top loaded and flexible shaft so little stress on mount. I bought that one at the cb shop in Jackson Ga but they closed up.
