That's what I was going to do. I had the springs on it to get a little more length but it wad too flimsy with the long antennas. What can I do to get better reception? It doesn't have much reception range. Is it possible that because I'm using the aluminum stud mount instead of a steel one that is effecting the performance?

    I'm using 18 ft co-phase coax.

True, it could be them but it happens almost all the time. I remember back in the day it was easy to get a cb set up to work 3-5 miles. Lol. My antennas are leaned at a 15° angle since it's the max angle that Firestick recommends.

Seems people keep asking the same questions instead of reading the thread, although the thread has gotten hijacked on more than one occasion, and that's cool too.......the answer for the Cascadia is found at post # 24 - 33.........with pictures! Not to say you can't learn more by reading further on in the thread. Bottom line, you have to get the antenna load up and away from the cab as far as possible, thus a 7ft, top loaded fiberglass antenna, Firestick, Skip Shooter, etc, is the easiest, cheapest way to do that.

I agree people are making this more complicated than it needs to be, just set it up as you detail in your original post and 10 to 15 miles on average should be the norm.
